I love this book. I could not wait to read it each night. It has so many wonderful practical ideas that are doable in the classroom. Lots of great suggestions that you can implement right away during writer's workshop. I purchased this a e-book but I wish I had a hard copy of the book because I would love to be able to write notes and use it as a reference. If you purchase this book make sure you get a hard copy of it, you will enjoy it. Read More Here

Miller writes about her experiences teaching sixth grade however I think you can take the basic ideas and apply them to any grade level. Read More about my thoughts here. Teaching in the Digital Age Smart Tools for Age 3 to Grade 3, is a good book for teachers with very little knowledge of technology and have little technology in their classroom. I did my review of this book by chapters this time mainly to give myself deadlines for reading. You can read my ideas and notes from the chapters at the following posts:
Chapter 1 & 2 Lots of ideas to incorporate photos and authors links in the classroom.
Chapter 3 & 4 Smartboards and Projectors
Chapter 5 & 6 e-pals, Skype and podcasts
Chapter 7 & 8 Classroom resources for the Internet
Chapter 9 Free apps for the classroom

Reading in the Wild is another wonderful book by Donalyn Miller stressing the importance of letting our students read in the classroom. Not just read assignments but books that they want to read as well. Here are my notes from the book and hopefully I will have some more links to show you how I incorporated some of her ideas into my classroom.
