Summer Vacation Begins

My summer vacation begins today.  I don't have a lot of summer plans this year because we just remodeled our bathrooms.  So nothing left in the budget for vacation money, however I will make the best of the free stuff around the city and of course babysitting for my adorable grandchildren.  I already went to the zoo with my daughter and grand daughter this past weekend.  It is fun to see the animals from a three year olds eyes.  Every animal was exciting even if it was just sleeping.

I sat down tonight and brainstorm my summer homework.  My wish list of things I hope to accomplish before the new school year starts.  I have three books I want to read and several activities I want to pull together for the new year.  This is just the list of school stuff I want to accomplish, I have another list for the house and one for myself, and of course my endless reading list.

My Summer Bucket List

Oh how I wish summer vacation was here!
This has been a difficult day.
I have nine more school days left.
Three short weeks…..  I cannot wait!
I came to blog land to see what everyone was thinking and I came upon
source
what a great idea.  I needed a bit of an escape tonight.  Thanks.
Here is what I hope to do over the summer I have a huge mess in my house right now and moving classrooms and grade levels I am sure things will be crazy this summer.
My Summer To Do List

Read Read Read Read Read
I want to spend some time reading for pleasure and reading some professional books.  I am hoping to reread the Daily Five CafĂ© Book,  Reading for Meaning, and I purchased a  book about using technology in the classroom last year and that is on my reading list.  I also purchased the Science Notebook Book and I want to read that too.

Last summer I could not ride my bike because I broke my elbow.  So I am looking forward to riding this summer my goal is to ride 1000 miles.

Organize my House
Right now my house is a complete disaster.  Between the water damage in the basement and the first floor remodel I have a lot of work to do to get my house in order.

Travel to Yellowstone
I am traveling with my husband, son, and daughter in law out west this summer.  I cannot way to see Mount Rushmore.  I love to see something new!

Summer Reading List

I am linking up with Mrs. Stanford and creating a list a books I plan on reading this summer.  Now keep in mind I have fourteen more days of school.  So I will be working a bit longer, I am not at that point yet where I am looking too far ahead.

I am still taking things one step at a time.
PLUS
I will be training for a 68 mile bike ride.
Read more about that here:

So the rest of the day I will have plenty of time to rest and read!

This is the first book I plan on reading.  I want to join in with Mrs. Will's blog reading group this summer.

Then  I purchased this book to help me with my math stations.  I am not happy with how they are going.

Another book to help me focus on math stations.  I am determined to make math stations work in my classroom.

This is just for me.  I started this book but I have a long way to go.  I need to found some patience and balance in my life.

I started this book years ago and never finished it, so I want to reread it and finished it this time.
