Sheep on a Ship

My little ones are struggling with the sh sound.
So for a last ditch effort to get the sh sound to sink in before vacation I found this old book in my files.  The added bonus, it goes with my Pirate Theme, Aarrgh!

I created a quick worksheet for them to do as a follow up.  It is pretty basic.  I cut want them to cut out the sh pictures and glue them around the ship.  Nothing fancy!  This is a pirate worksheet after all.

Talk Like A Pirate

I found this pirate story on youtube today.  It is very cute.

I also found this story about girl pirates.

I will add both of these to my listening center collection for  the week.

If you want to see what other finds I have for my Pirate unit just jump over to my ck primary page where I keep all my pirate links.  (This wiki page is a few years old, I started it before Pinterest.)

Math Story Problems for Pirate Weeks

During our morning calendar time the children do a math story problem of the day.  I created some story problems with pirates.  Click Here if you would like your free copy.

The story problems are mainly money stories, but there are a couple of other review type problems in there are well.

:)  Enjoy

Pirate Homework

My little ones have some Pirate homework to get ready for Pirate Day.  They need to figure out their pirate name and what they are going to wear.

I show them the following video I found on you tube so that they can see that pirates do not need fancy clothes and to get them excited about Pirate Day.

Well Mateys, it is the last 10 days of school and it is time to start thinking and learning about Pirates in our kindergarten.

Here are the pirate books I found that I read to my little ones:

I am always looking for additions for my collection.  Do you have any suggestions??
